A PlexiDor Dog Door for Walls Series pet door can be installed into stud, brick, block or cement exterior walls up to 12 inches thick. Each wall unit includes an aluminum tunnel kit designed to connect the interior and exterior frames of the dog door through the wall. The tunnel materials guarantee a professional look and finish, ensuring your home maintains a high-quality appearance. The bottom section of the wall tunnel has an outward and downward slope to prevent water from entering your home. The tunnel will not rust, has no sharp edges and is easy to keep clean.

    I purchased this door in May of 2023 for $1100. What a waste of money. First, there is no support system like if you purchased it from a company in town. Had an issue and the receptionist talked me through it. Then the weather stripping didn’t hold up. Now one of the doors stays open in whichever direction they just went. Then the lock isn’t anything to brag about. I’m sure if your were a criminal you could kick it in pretty easy. But if you put on the big metal plate that’s inconvenient to take on and off you’ll be good. For a door that suppose to be tough it’s not. I payed good money thinking it would answer my needs and it hasn’t even come close. Try and shop locally so when you have a problem someone can come out and fix it.

Springs should last 5 yrs at least ( We have a 10 yr warranty on our Plexidor ) The weather seal will not just fall out if it was installed correctly . We stand behind our Plexidor 100%. About Security : We do make a stainless steel lock if you need something stronger and Sliding tracks are available to make it easy to use the steel security cover . Again, please call and ask for Bill, I am sure we can help … We offer a 90 day money back guarantee; and if after you talk with us, you are still not satisfied, we will refund your money if you return the Plexidor.

    Best money I ever spent. I purchased the door in 1999. I am now on my 3rd dog and never had an issue. I was surprised when I called that they still have parts available for this door! The door is not broken however, my boxer is giving it more use than both other dogs together. I just purchased new doors and a spring kit for my peace of mind and parts availability. I may not need these parts but I have them now for the future. Also, there customer service is awesome, pleasant, helpful, friendly and courteous WOW the real deal. Thank you for a great product.

    I have had dogs all my life and many dog doors with flaps. I bought this one 18 years ago and it is by far the best dog door I have ever had. I have not had any problems with the door, until now and it is s small one, we need to replace the spring in one door. What a relief, I thought I would need to buy a whole new door. I immediately noticed the cold air coming in, when the spring broke and the one side of the door did not close. Makes me appreciate even more how much winter cold and summer heat this door keeps out of our home! Best customer service ever! This door is worth every penny it cost!     PlexiDor was a game changer for me and my 3 Great Pyrenees!! I can sleep all night while they roam the property protecting the house inside and out. I have installed the wall mounted door by myself in my old house with no problems and having it built into my new house. This door can withstand heavy usage and dogs running at full force. No problem for my 150 lb GP and 65 lb labs to get through. Best customer service of any company I have worked with, helpful, friendly and they keep excellent records and have replaced parts after 10 years (only 1 repair needed in 10 years, a spring literally wore out from use). Cannot say enough good things about this dog door and this company, recommend 100% to anyone with dogs.

    I love our dog door. Not sure the guy who installed it 10+ years ago knew what he was doing, but it didn’t leak air. Now I need to replace the moving parts and the fluff, but that is to be expected after 10+ years of 24/7 ballistic missile ins & outs by 9 of my own dogs, 15 cats, and 22 foster dogs (not all at once, I am only a little crazy). I got the BIGGEST door for my 125 pound GSD, and even my smallest dog (a 6lb Chiweenie) is able to go through it with no difficulty.
    My only complaint would be the mud the dogs bring in. No dog-wash feature yet, but maybe someday.

    Finally able to buy what I thought to be the Cadillac of dog doors. I’ve installed five other brands of wall dog doors with ease. This door does not have preconstructed walls to connect the front and back of the dog door frames. You literally have to construct the inner wall of the door. No interlocking pieces. The supplied drill bit broke after the third hole and it’s too small for the supplied screws which do not use a standard bit. I used my own flat head screws with standard heads. The cover to the hinge is a joke. The engineering of the small dog wall door is non existent. There is no door cover supplied but the owner’s manual suggests you use Velcro on the frame with a thin piece of wood….for $341.00?!?
    I would have returned this but didn’t get to the install until after the 90 days due to getting metal plates out of wrist and recovery time. Save your money.

      We have been manufacturing the Plexidor for over 30 years and have over 100,000 Plexidors install all over the world with many repeat customers. However, we have had a few customers that say the wall install is challenging, but in the end, the final product is well worth the extra time.
      As you know the small does not come with a security cover, because the opening is too small for intruders or large animals to enter the home. The small comes with a locking knob or available key lock for extra security. This lock will keep out any unwanted guests with no need for a security cover. The opening is a small 6 1/2 x 7 1/4 inches, recommended for cats.
      Our Plexidor also comes with a 10 year warranty that covers all parts and is not prorated. Please call us if you decide to return your Plexidor for a full refund. 941-758-1951…. Our refund is 100% and covers all costs, and in your case we will include a return shipping label. ( not normally offered ) You will receive your full $341.00 once we receive your return.     We purchased our first wall mounted door in 1996 for our home in MN. It performed exceptionally well in frigid sub-zero temperatures. In 2006 we purchased another for our AZ home; it works just as well in the extreme heat.

    I bought two large dog PlexiDor about 5 years ago. I am extremely happy with the functioning of the products and my pets just love the easy access of going in and out at their leisure. I have to replace a broken spring on one of the doors recently and received immediate response when I called. The spring was sent to me free of charge with all the instructions on how to fix it, very helpful indeed! I recommend this product to any pet owners.

    Over the course of 40+ years, my husband and I have had 2-3 dogs at all times, lived in 7 different houses , all with various, inferior dogs doors until we finally discovered PlexiDor, so far superior in every feature as prior reviews have pointed out. Another standout: I called PlexiDor during the Covid pandemic not expecting to get anybody , promptly got a REAL PERSON!, extremely knowledgeable, who walked us through my question about re”fluffing” the 5 year old gasketing. It was still entirely intact ,just somewhat matted in one small area from oil from dogs’ coats. The rep gave us a simple cleaning technique which should suffice but also explained how to replace the gasket if we wanted to.

    I bought my large bite guard tinted in wall dog doors in 2012. Until 2019 I didn’t do anything to the doors. 2 Malinois and Doberman SLAM their way through these doors countless times a day for 7 years with no problems.
    Had I known to look at the paperwork that came with the doors I would have known to clean and lube the springs every couple of years and I wouldn’t have to replace the springs in 2019. Still the doors are expensive but the frame and
    the door panels themselves show absolutely no signs of wear over 7 years. worth every penny. Get what you pay for. If I had normal dogs this level of quality and sturdiness of construction might not be necessary. After replacing
    several other doors that couldn’t withstand the abuse my dogs give I was finally glad to find doors that need no attention but occasional cleaning and as I know now, spring lube. BTW, the spring replacement or lubing takes 20 minutes tops.

    My dog chewed through the first door I bought. Company told me that if I had ordered direct instead of on Amazon, they would have asked me what breed of dog I have and told me to order the chew proof (bite proof door). So I had to pay another $400 to replace the doors with the bite proof one. Unfortunately, the dog chewed off the weather stripping (fuzzy stuff) within an hour of installing it. It still works, but wonder how well it will keep the cold out come winter.

    I had one of these doors for 12 years in my first house and I’m going on 7 years at the house that i’m in now. They are the best thing out there. Easy to use, keep the a/c in in the summer and the heat in in the winter. Worked great in Vermont winters and now in South Carolina summers! Dogs learn to use them easily and love the freedom. With a fenced in yard at both homes the only thing that came in that wasn’t supposed to was my neighbor’s toddler once. I’ve never had to repair either and only needed to replace the weather stripping once. would recommend to EVERYONE.

    I rescue (English) Bull Terriers. These doors really are indestructible! I’ve used the Plexidor in 3 different houses over the past 27 years. They stand up summer heat and wintery blasts of cold air – they keep it all out. My dogs hit these doors at a full run and blast right through them. No problem. You can buy cheaper doors and pay over and over for heating and air conditioning leak, plus the cost of frequent repairs – or just buy these and be happy you did!

    I have had the wall series installed in two central Florida homes at two different times for my large golden retriever. She loves going through it and it works perfectly. Does not let in the HOT Florida heat or humidity through it at all. It also locks when wanting extra security such as when you are on a vacation or when you don’t want your dog going through it (when I was having a large tree removed in the backyard). It was installed through a poured concrete wall too. Great customer service and great product. I wish other companies would work the way these guys do.

    Best dog door made. Have owned just about every dog door made. Spent just under three thousand dollars on various through the wall doors. Never had anything last a full year. Installed Plexidor two years ago. No malfunctions, no failures. Have two very high power Springers bred for field. They do not walk thru the door. They launch at mach 3. Our climate runs from 100 to -40F. Winds over 50mph. This is a far superior product to anything else on the market.

Installing your PlexiDor Pet Door at the correct installation height will ensure the door is comfortable for your pet to use. Stepping up and through the door is best.

These measurements are a guide only, make sure the pet door is installed so that the opening is at least 2″ above the pet’s back. There is only one size for electronic doors, you will need to estimate based on pet size.

Security

Safety for you and your pet is our highest priority. Each door comes with a lock and key and a steel plate that can be easily attached on for extra security.

Lock and Key
All models come with a lock and two keys for everyday use. Just turn the key to lock out unwanted guests. Heavy duty steel lock visible only from the inside resists tampering. The small size door has a four-way lock that can be set to open, locked, open for entry, and open for exit.

Steel Security Plate
Medium, Large, and Extra Large size PlexiDor dog doors include a steel security plate that screws on easily when you leave for an extended period of time. To use the security plate daily, install the optional PlexiDor Sliding Track – so the door can be conveniently dropped into place and closed with a flip lock in seconds. Small size doors are too small for an intruder to enter and do not come with the steel security door.
